I am thinking about gradually switching to organic/mineral make-up lately. With this fresh inspiration in mind I took a look at what the Alverde counter at DM has to offer and I bought the make-up cleanser.
This is a double-phase formula, which contains almond, avocado and aloe vera extracts from organic farming, as well as jojoba oil. It’s supposed to be gentle to the eyes.
I have used similar make-up cleansers by Douglas and Lancome and this one by Alverde can’t hold a candle to either one of them. I let the cotton pad soak, I place it on my eyelid and I wait, and it is still not able to clean dark eye pencil and mascara well. It leaves white trace on the skin, like soap foam and it keeps foaming when I try to wash it off. Not that its a bad thing, I am just no longer used to such multi-step face cleansing ceremonials now that I have tried micellar water.
Several people on youtube complained that the cleanser “burns like hell”. I do not get such a strong reaction, but still, it gives somewhat uncomfortable feeling to the eyes. All in all, I would not recommend it.
